John Marchant, President of the Scituate Health Alliance Committee

John is the president and owner of New England Syrup Company. He is a past member of the Scituate Town Council having served eight terms before retireing. He is a past member of the Scituate Tax Assessment Board of Review and the Scituate Recreation Committee. He is also a past president of Hope Community Services and is a member of the Scituate Lions Club. He is a past member of the Executive Board of the Rhode Island Knights of the Grip Committee of the Rhode Island Food Dealers. John has coached several different youth sports teams in Scituate over the last twenty years.                  

 

                                                     

Michael Fine, M.D., Vice President of the Scituate Health Alliance Committee

Dr. Fine is the principal investigator for the committee. He is Physician-in-Chief, Rhode Island Hospital Department of Family and Community Medicine; Senior Managing Partner, Hillside Avenue Family and Community Medicine; Board Co-Chair, The Occupational and Environmental Health Center of Rhode Island; Past President, Rhode Island Academy of Family Physicians and a 200-2002 Open Society Institute/George Soros Medicine as a Profession Fellow. Dr. Fine serves on the National Advisory Council of the National Health Services Corps, and on the Urban Family Medicine Task Force of the American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Fine trained as a community organizer in the South Bronx, was a National Health Service Corps Scholarship Recipient, and served in the Corps in rural Hancock County, Tennessee, the then fifth poorest county in the United States.

Kobad B. Malesra, D.D.S., Secretary of the Scituate Health Alliance Committee.

                                                      

Margaret Long, R.Ph. Scituate Town Clerk and member of the Scituate Health Alliance Committee.

Margaret is a registered Pharmacist. She is a former member of the Scituate Town Council, having served five terms. She is also a past President of the Scituate Rotary Club.

              

 

Denise Marie Saran, M.S., Member of the Scituate Health Alliance Committee.

Denise has a Master of Science Degree in Human Development and Family Studies in two areas of Specialization: 1) Adult Development/Gerontology  and 2) Public Policy/Public Administration from the University of Rhode Island. She has conducted population health research working for Phillip G. Clark Sc.D. Professor Program in Gerontology and Director of the Rhode Island Geriatric Education Center at the University of Rhode Island, on the Alzheimer's Demonstration Grant to the States. In addition, she was a consultant to the Rhode Island Department of Health, where she conducted a hepatitis C Virus needs assessment.

 

                                                       

Skye Sciolto, Member of the Scituate Health Alliance Committee.

Skye is EMTC/Captain of the Scituate Ambulance Corps, a pharmacy technician, and an EMT instructor. She has also joined the Civil Air Patrol in medical/emergency services. Skye is a lifelong resident of Scituate, R.I.
