Scituate Dental Access Program The Scituate Health Alliance Committee takes great pleasure in announcing the introduction of the "Scituate Dental Access Program". This unique program was developed right here in Scituate as part of the Scituate Health Plan. The program is designed to provide access to a primary care dentist’s office for Scituate residents who do not have any dental insurance. To our knowledge, there is no place else in the country that offers such a program. The program will provide primary dental care services, that is one annual check up and one cleaning, to the participating residents. The patient will also have access to the dentist for simple emergency visits for pain relief. The program is not intended to cover anything other than these visits. Fund raising and grants will cover the program cost of $240 per year per person for those who qualify under federal low-income guidelines. Please contact the Health Care Committee at P.O. Box 88 in North Scituate (02857) or contact the Town Clerk’s office for details. For those who do not have any dental insurance, and do not meet the low-income guidelines, you may pay the $240 annual fee yourself and join the program. The only additional cost to the participant in either case is a per person per visit co-pay of $10. The Scituate Health Plan, when initiated, will be a comprehensive health plan that will provide local accessible and affordable health care for all Scituate residents who join the plan. The Scituate Dental Access program is one of the first steps in that direction and hopefully will insure that everyone in Scituate has access to a dentist for at least primary care services. "If you don’t have your health, you don’t have anything" Please contact our committee or the Town Clerk’s office and take advantage of this unique new program. Thank You, John Marchant Committee Chairman |
